WHO WE ARE
Damian Hill
Director
Damian is based in Harrogate and works from our Leeds office. Having worked for the business for over 30 years, he has been an integral part of the companies development and offers a wealth of experience and knowledge. Following a number of years working as a site technician globally, Damian progressed to management level and expanded the specialist technical department before being appointed a Company Director. He then focused on larger projects and led Crabtree & Hill to securing regular contracts with larger blue chip companies.
The further growth of the company led to improvement year on year and is something Damian strives to continue in his role today. Having considerable experience of working within the print & packaging industries, Damian has managed multiple large scale turnkey projects. His background provides our clients with key specialist knowledge as well as project management experience where required.

Crabtree and Hill is a well-known brand within the print industry. It is also one of our most important assets: it opens doors to new business; reassures existing customers; attracts talented people and differentiates us from our competition.
A strong brand also gives us the ability to move into new markets with confidence and today as well as having a strong presence in print, we are growing in other industries.
Our reputation has been built over 40 years, today however, reputation also depends on service and performance – how we deliver on our promises.

Our story
OUR STORY
Crabtree & Hill was established in 1978 by Jack Crabtree and Stewart Hill and it was their vision, to develop a specialised electrical service business, unique to the printing industry.
Crabtree & Hill quickly gained traction, completing print machinery relocation projects. At this time, Jack and Stewart were building a solid reputation built on a philosophy of developing customer relationships whilst offering quality services, combined with competitive pricing. It is this early philosophy, which has remained constant through the years and together with a culture, built upon truth and trust, it has been responsible for the excellent reputation Crabtree & Hill still have today.
Over the past 38 years, the company has grown steadily, completing projects globally mainly for OEM’s and print industry businesses alike. As Crabtree & Hill developed further, Stewart and Jack added more “strings to their bow” to support their customers’ needs and new skills were employed to service those needs. Dedicated print specialists were employed, larger electrical installations were completed and testing and energy efficiency was added to the portfolio of services offered by Crabtree & Hill.
In early 2000’s Jack retired, in 2001 Crabtree & Hill incorporated from a private company to limited company and Crabtree & Hill continued trade solidly.
After the financial crisis in 2008, it started to become apparent that the print industry was in a slow decline. Crabtree & Hill started to reassess its position and started to look at opportunities to add value inside print and explore other opportunities to supplement the business.
From 2010 through until 2014, Crabtree and Hill supplied project management resources responsible for managing projects up to £3m. The management of such projects, introduced Crabtree & Hill to the benefits of turnkey type projects and decided to fully utilise their current electrical business and add the required mechanical elements required to carry out turnkey type operations. In 2015, the first small M&E turnkey project was successfully completed.
Our vision is, to provide turnkey operation disciplines both to new and existing customers.
